Oberon Cover Review & Giveaway!

An Overview From Oberon!

We took extra pains during our design phase in order to come up with something that really compliments this eReader/Tablet.

Because of the weight and somewhat higher cost of the Kindle Fire we have made a new attachment system for it. We have incorporated a rigid bumper and two mini bungee cords up top. This makes for a very secure mount and easy removal and installation of the device. We have included a platform system for holding the Tablet on its side to watch movies. (See detail page..)

The Statistics

* 5.5″ wide x 8″ high and weighs 7.8oz.
* Corner straps and top bumper provide shake & drop security.
* Cord & tab platform device for horizontal tabletop reading.
* Cover easily folds and stays open.
* 100% wool felt LCD screen protector.
* Large side pockets & small pocket for I.D. or cards.
* Matching Britannia Pewter button.
* Marine grade replaceable mini bungee cords (Includes extra bungees)

What Do I Think?

Pros:

*It’s stunning! It doesn’t get much better than handcrafted when it comes to leather and Oberon has it down to an art.

*It has a beautiful pewter latch to keep the cover closed.

*There is a document cover waiting patiently to be filled on the inside flap.

*It’s secure! With leather straps on the bottom and 2 tightly coiled bungees on top your Fire isn’t going anywhere! Trust me…I’ve dropped mine more than once.

*Want to read a book or watch a movie at lunch, but don’t want to get food all over your precious Fire? No problem, it comes with a horizontal option. Use the cord and tab to flip your Fire and viola’ easy reading/watching.

Cons:

*Ouch! It has sharp edges right out of the box…beware or you might find yourself in need of a band-aid.

*It’s heavy! Quality leather comes at a price and this time it’s weight. Are you a person that carries their Fire everywhere? Be forewarned this this beautiful cover will add some poundage to your pockets!

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. 1. An amazing look to this cover. It reminds me a an antique leather bond book from faraway….maybe somewhere like Scotland. ;D

  2. Is this cover only for the Kindle Fire? Or will there be a voucher for any Oberon Kindle cover? I don’t own a Fire, so i was just wondering. Thanks for the offers though. 🙂

    1. Linda – this particular cover is only for the Fire, but stay tuned I have covers for all of the other devices as well coming up.

  3. You know what, I love this design and I have a friend who has a Fire, this would make a wonderful gift! So I entered. 🙂

  4. these are gorgeous – I have lusted over the Oberon covers forever but just can’t afford one. Would LOVE to win one 🙂

  5. This looks like a beautifully crafted case. I am so glad you are doing this accessory month Misty. Searching for the right case can be overwhelming and it is really hard to know what the case will look like or how well it will function by just looking at it online. Thanks for doing this and thank you (to you and Oberon) for giving us the opportunity to win this case.

  6. I have one for the Kindle 3 that I bought last year. It is amazing! Beautiful! Strong! I highly recommend them!!!

  7. Beautiful!! Oberon is a favorite word/name of mine. Anything associated with it brings luck (my fave beer too).

  8. I think it’s great that you are having these giveaways – and I certainly would like to win one. I do wish you’d reconsider the having to “like” something on Facebook in order to open other options of entry. I am not on Facebook.
    Just my .02 cents — which aren’t worth that much I’m sure.

    1. I hear ya on the “required” entry thing but I do it as a gesture of kindness for the companies that actually sent me all of these items for free. If you don’t have a FB account just type that in the field provided and push enter. I’ll push the entries through as long as I know it’s legit 🙂

  9. Oberon makes wonderful items. I have some of their jewelry and love it. A Oberon leather case is a dream.

  10. I’ve been wanting one for over a year! There just too expensive for me :0( I would LOVE to win one. Especially since I need a strong (but pretty) case for my Kindles. I’ve broken 3 so far… *smh*
