Funnel Vision by Chris Kridler

Synopsis

Kansas photographer Judy Hale loves to chase storms, but at the heart of her passion is a fear she longs to quell, born of the tornado that destroyed her childhood. Handsome, devil-may-care tornado researcher Jack Andreas wants nothing better than to forget the past in his dangerously close encounters with the twisters he chases for science. He also chases women, and when he and Judy meet, sparks fly.

But Judy and Jack have dueling destinies as they cross paths with Judy’s sister Shannon, a directionless coquette; a clueless newbie storm-tour operator named Brad Treat; geeky, likable chaser Robinson Marvell; and a bevy of other storm chasers as they pursue the gorgeous, violent storms of Tornado Alley. Their stories intertwine as they chase the monster storm that forces Judy to confront her deepest fears and Jack to find the courage to face the ultimate twister. With action, humor, romance and rapturous skies, “Funnel Vision” takes you into the heart of Tornado Alley — and the hearts and minds of the adventurers who populate the nomadic, exhilarating world of storm chasing

My Teaser Page 1

“She longed to freeze the storm’s motion, but on a chase, that’s not how it worked.  Standing beside the rocky road, she looked up and watched as the twister moved out of her frame and closer. She let the Nikon hang loose around her neck so she could lean over the tripod and adjust her video camera.  The wind shifted as the edges of the circulation enveloped her.  A thousand bits of color snapped and popped through her peripheral vision: the whipping trees, the rippling grass and a car moving her way, somewhere beyond the dust rushing along the ground and into the funnels base.”

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.

  1. Branded by Keary Taylor

I would have started to get worried but it was not uncommon for me to have to search for Sal. She often fell asleep in odd places, the strangest being in the rafters in the dining room once. How she got up there I never found out.

    1. Ughhh I can’t wait until I can get to this. I have it waiting for me but I have to get a few reviews out of the way first.

  2. I really like her books. So far I’ve read What I Didn’t Say and Eden. Both were good, so I have high hopes for this series.
