Teaser Tuesday!

Morning Kindle-ites! You all know that I’ve never been one to jump on the conformity train, but I’ve decided to do a weekly post that was created by another blog (MizB from Should Be Reading -I’m not stealing it.. it’s there to share) called Teaser Tuesday. I think it is a fantastic way to get a sneak peak at book you may or may not have ever considered reading before PLUS… you get a chance to see what everyone else has to offer.

Anyways…it’s super simple & super fun! All you have to do is:

– Grab your current read
– Open to a random page
– Share (in the comments) 2 “teaser” sentences (or a paragraph…I’m not picky) from somewhere on that page (BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! you don’t want to give too much away!)
– And then tell us where you got it! (Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!)

My Teaser!

“They heard a faint rustling, flopping sound.  Something was trapped at the bottom of the empty spa pool making clumsy, spastic attempts to get out.  The slapping abruptly ceased.  The unseen thing had sensed Punch and Ghost standing in the doorway.  It listened to them breathe.”

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.

  1. “They beat him to death with bottles and a baseball bat, and there was pressure behind the scenes for Colin to help the defensemake their case that it was a fair fight, I say. Road Rage. Mosbly started it, even though the defendants had no injuries and he had an abundance of abrasions and bruises to show they tried to drag him out of the car while he still had his seat belt on.”

  2. “It was not just that Matthew could see and hear things I could not – it was that when he did sense something, the perception was so acute and precise. It wasn’t any blackberry – it was a particular blackberry, from a particular place or a particular time.”

  3. “My car sat alone in the parking lot, yet I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being watched…or reminded of the past. I have no idea how many times I’ve forced myself to stand back and just be a knowing observer. But I couldn’t today.”

          1. Not in one sitting or anything. I had been working on them for a few days. I finished the audio book at work. I have discovered that one of the light bulbs is going out and it makes a dreadful buzzing noise that gives me headaches. So I told my boss I need to listen to something else in order to be productive. It works for me.

          2. I used to listen to books ALL DAY when I worked. It helped me to focus. It never made sense to anyone else, but it helped me concentrate.
