Hopeless in Hotlanta Cover Reveal

It’s been a while since I’ve featured a cover reveal, but I thought this one was important. Last year I had the pleasure of meeting an amazing woman named Dawn Pendleton while at HBR. At first we had a bit of a love/hate relationship. (I followed her around with a camera, she hated me for it.) But by the end of the day (or should I say night…we were at a party together until almost 1am) we were friends. Since then she has introduced me to her BFF Magan Vernon. (Who is now one of the few people I  haven’t blocked from my personal Facebook feed.) Over the past year I have watched these two travel together. Mock each other. And (very rarely) comfort each other. (BFF’s generally stick to a “suck it up!” theory.) Anywho…late last night they finally released the cover of their newest novel “Hopeless in Hotlanta” WHICH they wrote TOGETHER! And, since I have spent the last year watching them perfect their craft of writing/promoting I thought there was no better way to honor their efforts than by sharing the cover with all of you. So here it is… Dawn and Magan’s newest…. isn’t it pretty.

MacAllister “Mac” Barlow thought she was living the life she always dreamed of. When she catches her fiancé in the act with his secretary, she high tails it out of their apartment without looking back. Looking for a new life, she drowns her sorrows in a pitcher of beer at Tony’s Pizzeria.

Darcy Pepper isn’t one for long-term relationships. Bouncing from guy-to-guy to get what she wants isn’t satisfying her anymore. Walking out on her current boy-toy, she finds herself at a tiny hole-in-the-wall pub. More disappointed in herself than she’s ever been, she sees Mac, a girl she vaguely remembers from high school.

Left flat broke, the girls quickly enlist the help of a waiter at Tony’s and before they know it, they’ve got an apartment, jobs, and possibly even love interests beckoning.

Maybe things aren’t so hopeless after all.

Dawn Pendleton is a new adult author who began her writing journey in New England with her husband and their pup, though she now resides in Georgia and promptly became a Southern Belle (or so she likes to think). When she isn’t staring at a blank page, willing the words to jump from her head to the screen, she’s usually playing on her iPhone, reading a book, or taking pictures with her fancy camera (which she has no idea how to use). Want to meet Dawn? Check out the list of Events she will be attending!

Magan Vernon is a Young Adult and New Adult writer who lives with her family in the insurance capital of the world. She is in a very serious, fake relationship with Adam Lambert and constantly asks her husband to wear guyliner. He still refuses. She also believes her husband is secretly an alien, disguised as a southern gentleman.

Her first book was independently published through an author cooperative in 2011; a YA Science Fiction book called How to Date an Alien that has consistently ranked int he top 100 in Amazon for Teen Science Fiction and Romance. Her first New Adult book, My Paper Heart, was published in 2012 and shot up the top of the Amazon best seller charts and surpassed expectations from all the people in 2009 that told her “A college aged character won’t sell.”

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.
