Quote This…

If you haven’t noticed by now… I LOVE QUOTES! I love discovering them in books. I love writing them down. I love sharing them with the people around me. See, I (at the end of the day) am an introvert. I would rather spend my time at home, curled between the pages of a  book, than out in the world making it my oyster. I do (get out in the world that is) but it’s never quite as comfortable to me as being at home, with words. Words are just…better. They can teach you. Help you. Entrance you. They can sweep you away to a whole new world in a matter of seconds. They fuel the imagination! Most people (my husband included) spend their time documenting life with photos. They make photobooks, picture calendars, what-have-you and give them out to family and friends. Me? I document it with the words that helped me through the day. My family says it’s the way I have found to deal with my clinical depression without the help of medication, and maybe they’re are right. (They have been known to be from time to time.) But the fact remains, that my quote books are a little piece of me. They capture the emotions and thoughts I feel are important to remember. So today…I am going to share a few of my favorites with you. Think of it as ME letting YOU read my diary. Enjoy. Oh…and feel free to share some of your favorite quotes with me! To then let them dry. To give them a chance to wash out the pain in order to see fresh and clear once again.” – “Unravel Me” by Tahareh Mafi   “I’ve come to believe that the most dangerous man in the world is the one who feels no remorse. The one who never apologizes and therefore seeks no forgiveness. Because in the end it is our emotions that make us weak,  not our actions.” – “Destroy Me” by Tahareh Mafi   “The things that knock you down in life are tests, forcing you to make a choice between giving in and remaining on the ground, or wiping the dirt off and standing up even taller than you did before you were knocked down.” – “Hopeless” by Colleen Hoover   “Sometimes the happiest pace of all is sitting still.” – “Finding My Happy Pace” by Heather Wardell   “Welcome to adulthood. It’s a bitch. But the fun part is, you can still spit in the wind.” – “Revelations” by Genevieve Person   “You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – “Winnie The Poo” by A.A. Milne   “In the seas of life, when the weather is bad, the optimist says the boat will be fine and the pessimist says we’re all going to die. But the realist – she adjust the sails.” – “World of Shell and Bone” by Adriana Ryan   “We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out.” – Ray Bradbury   “A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not why ships are built.” – “I’ll be Here” by Autumn Doughton   “Nobody actually looks like what they really are on the inside. You don’t. I don’t. People are much more complicated than that. It’s true of everyone.” – The Ocean at the End of the Lane” by Neil Gaiman   “No one is so privileged that they can simply beat another person when the whim seizes them.” – “Wicked in Your Arms: Forgotten Princesses” by Sophie Jordan

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.
