Short Story Spooktacular Contest!

Afternoon Kindle-ites!

Well, if you follow me on FB you have a heads up on this already, but if you don’t (A) shame on you! (B) I’ve decided to host a Short Story Spooktacular contest!!

“Hey Misty…what exactly is a spooktacular contest?” I’m so happy you asked.

It’s fairly simple, I found this wicked cool picture of a rundown abandoned mansion in Poland and thought it would make an awesome setting for a spooky short story. And, since I am too damn busy to write one myself, I want YOU to do it for me!

The 411

What do you have to do to get this incredibly awesome prize?

#1.  Write a short story! (between 2,500-7,500 words)
#2.  Include the 3 pictures above in your story! (Yes, all of them)
#3.  Send it to me so I can publish it on the site (misty@kindleobsessed.com)
#4.  Read the stories!
#5.  Beg your friends and family to vote for your story! (Because you know we are all shameless)

But Misty….What if we aren’t writers??

Not a problem.  I’m not delusional enough to think that everyone is a writer, but I don’t want to leave anyone out, so…when the time comes to vote, YOU the READER will also have a chance at a prize all you have to do is VOTE and your name will be added to the pot! (this is the point where you thank me!)

So what is the prize?

How about some dough to support your obsessive need to buy books?  That’s right.. I’m going to fork over my hard earned cash to buy the author of the story a $20 Amazon gift card!  And something of equal awesomeness (which I haven’t quite figured out yet) for 1 random lucky voter.

When is the spooky contest going to take place?

The deadline to have your submission in to me is October 25th that gives you a few weeks to jot down something creepy!  I will post the stories that weekend and then the voting will begin. So…what are you waiting for?  Get busy!!!

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.
