This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. She kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!
Each week I (along with the S&S ladies) will post a characteristic and choose 5 of my favorite covers with that characteristic. I would love for you to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic so hop on down to the comments and tell me what you think.
Today’s Cover Characteristic – Music Instruments
And The Winner Is…
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
I am a pianist so this particular cover holds a special place in my heart. But…if I wasn’t (a pianist that is) I would still LOVE this cover. Why? Because the floating pianos look like “beautiful chaos” to me. Huh? Well…when you break it down music is just a bunch of chaotic randomness arranged in a beautiful way. This cover reflects that. So Player Piano…congrats on your big win!
I’ve noticed a TON of books with music as the theme in some form. Maybe I’m just noticing that so much right now because my wip is about a rock band — sort of. 🙂
You know.. I never really took notice of it either until the girls at S&S made it their theme this week. The one I saw the most was guitars. Apparently rock stars make wonderful protagonist.
