Waiting On Wednesday

wow

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Ok, so I know that WoW is all about books that we are waiting oh so patiently for (and I will get to that, I promise) but I wanted to share something else I was eagerly anticipating as well and that is A&E’s new show “Bates Motel.” That’s right…THAT Bates Motel.

Here is a little about the show.

“This film intends to give viewers an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first hand how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged Norman, helping forge the most well-known serial killing motel owner in history. – Written by A&E

Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s genre-defining film, “Psycho,” “Bates Motel” is a contemporary exploration of the formative years of Norman Bates’ relationship with his mother, Norma, and the world they inhabit. Viewers will have access to their dark, twisted back story and learn firsthand how Norma helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.” – IMDB

The Storyteller By Jodi Picoult

Publication Date: February 26, 2013

Sage Singer, who befriends an old man who’s particularly beloved in her community. Josef Weber is everyone favorite retired teacher and Little League coach and they strike up a friendship at the bakery where Sage works. One day he asks Sage for a favor: to kill him. Shocked, Sage refuses…and then he confesses his darkest secret – he deserves to die, because he was a Nazi SS guard. Complicating the matter? Sage’s grandmother is a Holocaust survivor.

What do you do when evil lives next door? Can someone who’s committed a truly heinous act ever atone for it with subsequent good behavior? Should you offer forgiveness to someone if you aren’t the party who was wronged? And most of all – if Sage even considers his request – is it murder, or justice?

I am a super fan of anything dealing with WWII. Add that to Ms Picoult’s amazing ability to evoke emotion and I’m hooked. I have a feeling this one might be a tearjerker, but hey…everyone needs a good cry every now and then right? This is what I’m waiting for.

What are YOU waiting for?

About Misty

Your friendly neighborhood narcissist. I'm sarcastic, cynical and a bit cranky. I own a soap box so big that sometimes I have difficulty stepping down off of it, and I'm about 94% certain I have multiple personalities. I don't sleep enough, and I read more than any person should ever consider normal. I have anger management issues, especially when I'm stuck in traffic and I have an unhealthy obsession with my Kindle. I am a vampire lovin', zombie obsessed, book-in-hand, iPod freak. You either love me or hate me. You be the judge.
