Four simultaneous plane crashes. Three child survivors. A religious fanatic who insists the three are harbingers of the apocalypse. What if he’s right?
The world is stunned when four commuter planes crash within hours of each other on different continents. Facing global panic, officials are under pressure to find the causes. With terrorist attacks and environmental factors ruled out, there doesn’t appear to be a correlation between the crashes, except that in three of the four air disasters a child survivor is found in the wreckage.
Dubbed ‘The Three’ by the international press, the children all exhibit disturbing behavioral problems, presumably caused by the horror they lived through and the unrelenting press attention. This attention becomes more than just intrusive when a rapture cult led by a charismatic evangelical minister insists that the survivors are three of the four harbingers of the apocalypse. The Three are forced to go into hiding, but as the children’s behavior becomes increasingly disturbing, even their guardians begin to question their miraculous survival..
Oh…this has oogy David Koresh type novel written all over it! AND, seeing as how I reside in a town a measly 30 minutes from the cult–roversy riddled town of Waco I can’t help but gawk at the synopsis of this book. Cult undertones aside however…it also boast (supposedly) 3 of the 4 horses (I mean kids) of the apocalypse. I’m envisioning doom. Destruction. Mass chaos of the most epic kind. Also, I feel a little sad for the kids, and want to know their side of the story. Unless they DO turn out to be the 3 kids of the apocalypse in which case I might have to start looking into this “cult” thing a little more closely. (Wow, that made me sound bat-shit crazy.) Anywho…THIS is what I am waiting for.
What are YOU waiting for?
Hmmm, I have never heard of this one! I can’t believe it though – because it sounds AWESOME! Elements of psychology are always interesting. And death and destruction – “fun” times! I hope you read and enjoy this one, Misty!! 🙂
Check out my WoW post!
Right!!! AWESOME!
YES! This is on my list! I saw this on NetGalley and was sad that it was actually the version from the UK publisher, and as a resident of the US I wouldn’t be able to request. ARRGH, I totally want this book 😀
My WoW
Yeah, I posted the Uk cover because I like it more. More…ominous. I hope you get to read it soon.
