A jinni. A princess. And the wish that changes everything. . . .
Najwa is a jinni, training to be a spy in the war against the humans. Zayele is a human on her way to marry a prince of Baghdad—which she’ll do anything to avoid. So she captures Najwa and makes a wish. With a rush of smoke and fire, they fall apart and re-form—as each other. A jinni and a human, trading lives. Both girls must play their parts among enemies who would kill them if the deception were ever discovered—enemies including the young men Najwa and Zayele are just discovering they might love.

Ok, so there are a few reasons I want to read this book. The most insignificant? I just finished a fairly horribly Genie/Jinni book and I really want to read a good one. It’s not a common reading thread for me and I think if done properly it could be awesome. But more importantly? THEY SWITCH PLACES! This is like some warped version of The Prince and the Pauper meets The Princess Protection Program meets Freaky Friday. (Which is obviously code for HELL YEAH!) But, let’s break it down further. 1) The Jinni is training to be a spy so she can kick some human patooty. (I don’t know what we did, but the fact that we pissed of a whole race of jinnis doesn’t bode well for us.) 2) The Jinni suddenly becomes HUMAN! How’s that for a karma? 3) Their names are totally cool. In short, this sounds like a fun (different) book…which I really need right now. THIS is what I am waiting for.
