This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. She kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!
Each week I (along with the S&S ladies) will post a characteristic and choose 5 of my favorite covers with that characteristic. I would love for you to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic so hop on down to the comments and tell me what you think.
Today’s Cover Characteristic – Ocean
And The Winner Is…
Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay
In the interest of honesty…this cover is NOT my favorite of the 5 listed, Tris and Izzie is. But, since T & I is a little more “lake” than “ocean” I decided to play by at least 50% of the rules. That said…I really do love the cover for Juliet Immortal. As a matter of fact, I broke “Book cardinal rule number 1” and actually purchased this book last September based solely on its cover. I love the rock she is perched on (it adds a harshness to the other wise serene scene) her huddled positioning hints at despair (you KNOW how I love a good melodrama) and the ocean (which take up the remainder of the cover) looks as though it is mere minutes from turning into a band of tumultuous waves (Which I’d like to think unofficially (metaphorically) says “Watch out! Emotional storm ahead!!”) Anyways, this is this weeks Cover Characteristics winner. Are there any ocean covers out there that you like?
I love all your picks!
Thanks for joining in last week 🙂
